In our career talks, the Young Chemists Vienna are looking forward to providing you with valuable insights into the various fields today’s chemists are working in, to make some of your upcoming decisions concerning your own professional path easier.

Agnes Wildauer is an alumnus of the Theresan Military Academy. In addition, she graduated from the University of Vienna with a master’s degree in chemistry. She has been working as an active-duty chemist for the Austrian Armed Forces SIBCRA (Sampling and identification of biological, chemical and radiological agents) unit since 2018. Her main scope of duties includes the identification and detection of chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial chemicals, as well as the development and optimization of processes. Furthermore, Agnes Wildauer is responsible for the training of CBRN-qualified personnel. In this talk, you will find out more about her special career path and which challenges and tasks chemists in the Austrian Armed Forces have to face in case of an emergency. Additionally some analytical methods and devices will be presented.
