On Mai 4th, Prof. Peter Ertl gave a lecture titled "Covid-19 Testing: Quo Vadis?", which was held via a nationwide accessible live stream from a lecture hall of the Vienna University of Technology, due to Covid. The well-known professor and biochip expert explained different mechanisms for Covid-Testing, and how he and his team managed to develop the fastest Covid test by utilizing biochips with specific free antibodies. The newly developed test method can identify the smallest amounts of viruses in just a few minutes while providing great sensitivity. As he played a big part in the development of this biochip-based test, Prof. Ertl gave great insights into the topic of Covid-Testing to the around 50 participants, who were able to get into a more detailed discussion through the concluding question and answer session.
